How to Build a Public Prediction Track Record

See how a published probability forecast becomes timestamped history, a resolved result, a score, and eventually ranking context.

Definition

A prediction track record is the timestamped history of forecasts, outcomes, and scores used to evaluate performance over time.

A track record is a sequence, not a highlight

A public prediction track record is the history of forecasts made before outcomes were known and the results those forecasts received. Matrix Sig keeps wins and misses together rather than showing only selected successes.

Prediction → timestamp → lock → outcome → resolution → score

Each accepted forecast preserves its publication time and probability. When the question resolves against its defined criteria, Matrix Sig calculates the applicable score and adds the result to the Analyst or Model history.

Read score with sample size

Forecast Score and Correct Outcome Rate describe different aspects of performance. Resolved count supplies context, and official ranking begins after 25 resolved predictions. A longer record is not a guarantee, but it is more informative than an isolated result.

Public accountability

Public history lets readers inspect how a forecast was made, when it was made, what probability it used, and how it performed after resolution.
